These Terms of Service ("Terms") govern your use of the Verdict AI: PDP Decision Panel application ("App") for Shopify, operated by Verdict AI ("we", "our", "us"). By installing the App on your Shopify store, you agree to these Terms.
Verdict AI generates AI-written "Perfect for / Skip if" decision panels for the product detail pages of your Shopify store. The App reads your product catalog, generates panel content using a large language model, and renders that content on your storefront via a Shopify Theme App Extension. Generated panel copy is informational and is not professional, medical, legal, or financial advice. You remain responsible for the accuracy of claims made on your storefront.
You must have an active Shopify store on a supported plan to use Verdict AI. By installing the App you authorize us to access the data described in our Privacy Policy. You are responsible for keeping your Shopify admin credentials secure and for the actions of any staff member you grant access to.
Verdict AI offers tiered monthly and annual subscription plans listed in the App's pricing page and on the Shopify App Store. All charges are processed through Shopify's Billing API and appear on your Shopify invoice. Paid plans include a 14-day free trial unless otherwise stated. You may cancel at any time from the Shopify admin; cancellation takes effect at the end of the current billing period. Refunds follow Shopify's App Store refund policy. Plan limits (number of products with active panels, regenerations per month) are enforced as listed at the time you subscribe.
Decision panels are generated by an AI system. We make a reasonable effort to produce accurate, on-brand, on-catalog copy, but generated text may contain errors, omissions, or claims that are inappropriate for your category, market, or jurisdiction. Before publishing a panel to your storefront, you agree to review its content. You are solely responsible for any claims, contraindications, or recommendations that appear on your live store. Verdict AI provides editing and approval workflows specifically so that no AI text reaches a shopper without merchant review.
Regulated categories (cosmetics, supplements, food, medical devices, financial products) are subject to your local advertising and labelling rules. You agree that Verdict AI is not responsible for regulatory compliance of your storefront copy.
You agree not to: (a) reverse engineer, decompile, or scrape the App; (b) use the App to generate panels for products you do not have the legal right to sell; (c) circumvent plan limits or billing; (d) share API tokens or admin sessions with unauthorized parties; (e) use the App to produce content that is defamatory, fraudulent, or unlawful; (f) input prompts designed to manipulate the AI into producing prohibited content.
The App — including its prompts, AI orchestration, code, design, and the Verdict AI brand — is our intellectual property. Your product catalog, store data, and the specific panel text generated for your products remain your property. You grant us a limited license to process that data for the sole purpose of operating the App for you.
We target 99.5% monthly uptime for the embedded admin and 99.9% for the storefront panel render path (which is served from a CDN-cached endpoint). Planned maintenance is announced in advance. We are not liable for downtime caused by Shopify, Anthropic, or other upstream providers.
To the maximum extent permitted by law, Verdict AI shall not be liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, including loss of profits, revenue, goodwill, or data, arising from your use of the App or from the content of generated panels. Our total aggregate liability for any claim is capped at the amount you paid us in the 12 months preceding the claim.
The App is provided "as is" and "as available" without warranties of any kind, express or implied, including merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, non-infringement, or that AI-generated content will be accurate, complete, or compliant with any specific regulation.
You agree to indemnify and hold us harmless against any claims arising from (a) your use of the App, (b) panel content you choose to publish to your live storefront, or (c) your violation of these Terms.
We may suspend or terminate your access if you violate these Terms or if your Shopify subscription lapses. You may terminate by uninstalling the App from your Shopify admin. Upon termination, panels are removed from your storefront and your data is deleted per our Privacy Policy.
We may update these Terms as the App evolves. Material changes are communicated by in-app notice at least 14 days before they take effect. Continued use after the effective date constitutes acceptance.
These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of Delaware, United States, without regard to conflict of law principles. Disputes will be resolved in the state or federal courts of Delaware. If you are an EU/UK consumer, mandatory consumer protection law in your jurisdiction continues to apply.
